Winter Guard International Competition
In Partnership with WGI
Each year, Blue Springs High School is host to a sanctioned Winter Guard International (WGI) competition. This event is an exciting opportunity to showcase the world class facilities, dedicated parents, and the strength of our guard program.
The Winter Guard International competition is held in February each year. Guards will perform in competition schedule typically from early morning until late night.
Blue Springs High School parents are asked to support the event by volunteering in various functional areas like parking, warm-up rooms, performance assistance, admissions, hospitality, unit check-in, and concessions.
While this event is ran by WGI, the fundraising opportunity for Blue Springs is in the operation of the concession stand. Because the funds for the Friends of the Golden Regiment support all winds, percussion, and color guard activities, the costs of the Winter Guard program are managed by the booster organization. If your student is not a member of the Winter Guards, it is still important to volunteer to support this activity as it can have impacts on the overall resources of the booster organization.
