Creating the Sound Track

The Blue Springs High School Theater department holds two productions each year.  One of those is a musical production which is supported by the department of bands musical pit orchestra.

The musical pit orchestra provides the sound track for the on-stage performers.  Often out of sight, these players captivate audiences by enhancing the overall performance.  

 

The schedule for musicals and other theatrical productions changes from year-to-year.  Sometimes the school musical is held in the fall while other years it may be in the spring.  

 

The pit orchestra is an auditioned based group.  Participation requires attendance at all rehearsals and show nights.  Because of the limited instrumentation spots for this group, there may be additional practice requirements for students to ensure their part isn't missed during performances.
