The Freshman Concert Band at Blue Springs High School is an opportunity for students to refine their performance skills in a more challenging setting.  Students in the Freshman Concert Band are separated into brass, woodwind, and percussion sections to allow more focused attention on developing technique.

 

The Freshman Concert Band is designed to build on the instruction from middle school as players develop more challenging performance skills like ensemble dynamics, phrasing, and intonation that will allow them to advance into performance repertoire found in the Wind Symphony and Symphonic Bands after their Freshman Year.

Students in the Freshman Concert Band are also given the opportunity to participate in solo and ensemble music contest in the spring.

The Freshman Concert Band performs alongside the Wind Symphony and Symphonic Bands at the annual holiday concert.  Additionally, each year the Freshman Concert Band performs its own full concert programming in the spring.
